Our Classes

Our Classes

At the East Shelby Church of Christ, we seek to provide a Bible-based education for all ages. We are certainly aware that the Bible teaches that the home is the center of spiritual education (Deuteronomy 6:6–8; Ephesians 6:4). Our Bible classes are designed to supplement the home in its role as the spiritual educational institution.

We offer classes every Sunday morning and Wednesday nights.

We are blessed to have the ability to facilitate small group classes for adults. Each Sunday and Wednesday, our adults meet in classes that average in size from 10 to 40 students to study a variety of topics. Each class is designed to help our adults grow and mature spiritually in order to walk in a way that is pleasing to God (Colossians 1:9–10).

Children's Classes

We offer classes for all ages—infants to high school aged students. Our class curriculum for students up to sixth grade is "Shaping Hearts for God." This curriculum features weekly lessons focusing on God's word, Bible facts to help the student learn the scheme of the Bible, memory verses designed to be age appropriate, and daily scripture readings to assist families in their daily studies at home. More information can be seen about this curriculum at their website (www.shapingheartsforgod.org/).

Our Junior High and High School students currently use David Banning's "Get Them Talking" series of study. This curriculum is specifically designed with the students' ages, abilities, and learning styles in mind. They are designed to facilitate discussion while also encouraging students to develop an analytical method of studying the scriptures. Most importantly, this series is intended to help students find their own faith rooted in God's Word. More information can be found about this curriculum at their website (getthemtalking.com).
